so she had a good time, and all went well. she came home safe after spending the night at the hotel and now she has fond memories instead of bad feelings about not being able to go? i hope so.
we had a good time as prom chaperones this weekend too. the music was terrible and the kids looked ill while dancing, but they all had fun and no one misbehaved (that we know of). now they just need to make it to graduation safe and sound.
Although I gave full permission (and trust) to Kelly to stay the night with friends at a hotel, she elected instead to come home afterwards because she had to work in the morning. She makes me proud. I don't regret the discussions we had about my unease of her staying in a hotel... we became closer because of it, even though the conversation was uncomfortable and I had to do much thinking about it.
that is good news. she showed you that given the freedom she made the right decision because she had responsibilities. that is great. i am glad that it all worked out. being a mom to a young woman is a tough job. but if you handle it right there are many rewards. it sounds like you have done a good job with her. i know your angst and concern as i spent many nights hoping that my daughter was making the right decisions.
oh, how lovely that she made a good choice. she's earned extra credit with the bank if she wants to do something in the future.
