More Car Fiascos.

Kelly recently got her car back from the body shop after her father paid entirely too much for its repair. A few days with the car back, and someone in a parking lot at the grocery store decided to smash in the driver's side window and steal her I-Touch (she had hidden it, but the cords plugged in were still visible). She called the police and was hopeful somehow she'd get her Ipod back, but you and I have been on this planet a lot longer than her innocent 17 years.

The window is now duct-taped with clear plastic. It's not covered by insurance and I guess we'll have to find a glass guy and pull a rabbit out of a hat with regards to getting some money together. Of course to make matters worse it rained cats and dogs today, too... it hasn't rained in months and it's going to rain for days this week.

And so, how are you?

do you know anyone good with cars , sometimes you can pick up a new window for your car at a junk yard for a fraction of the cost and if you know a nice person who is good with cars they will fit it free.My friends have an Old VW they rebuilt using spare parts picked up for pounds at scrap yards it might be worth a try particularly if its an older car and likely to be found in scrap yards.

people suck. my insurance company sent me something about hiding wires, so i take the time to do it, even if it is a pain. i understand insurance not covering the itouch, but why won't the cover the window? for me, my deductable is $500, so i'd have to pay for the repair anyway, but our car insurance will cover damages due to robbery if there's a police report. although those f-ers won't pay for flood damage. then again, we live 4-6 blocks from one of the worst ghettos on the east coast, so it makes sense for us to have theft coverage.

:( we have experienced this in my family at least 6 times. broken windows, busted locks. thousands of dollars of equipment. none of it covered. you have to tell the kids to remove all of their stuff every time they leave the car and make it a habit. it is disgusting there are people out there who exist to rip off the rest of us busting our ass to have nice things.

The window repair is $175. I didn't even check with insurance. We had a claim only a couple of weeks ago when Kelly bumped into someone and I didn't want to push it. I can't lose my coverage or afford yet another increase in premiums. Thanks for the comments.

As for being pregnant... can you imagine? I just heard that Travolta and his wife are expecting. She's 48. My God... what do these people think they are going to live forever?

my inlaws waited until they were in their 40s to have kids. now they're in their 70s and have 1 grandkid and are too olld and tired to do anything but bitch for a second one. when my guy and his bro were in middle school, their teachers often thought that their parents were thier grandparents. it's not uncommon here for grandparents to parent the kids, but sheesh i'd be a tad offended. also, for awhile while my b-i-l was a teenager, he came to stay with us b/c it was too hard on him having parents that were 46years older than him. they nevr had the sex talk with him, they passed that buck off to me. yep. i had to give the sex talk to a teenaged boy when i was 22. i should get some momma right for that.
