The Whole Bloody Mess. Whore Moans about Hormones

Girlfriends... We need to talk about being 45 and the beginnings of the change-'o-life and about whacked out monthly cycles heavy as hell, coming CLOSE together and NOT farther apart. Am I going to be hormoned-out and crazy for the next 5 to 10 years? Cuz this just won't do. I'm far too busy and important for this nonsense. Please advise. Seeing the doc next week, but until then, all I've got is Web MD and you know how wisdom lives on the blogs so much more.

Tell me what I need to know. Sigh.

my doctor put me on the pill when i was going through all that. i went off of it after about 2 years and things got better. there is a shot you can get that makes it disappear completely. you might want to ask about that.
you are going through perimenopause. good luck to you.

Have you started having issues with your heart racing for no apparent reason? My doctor originally thought that it was a problem with my thyroid, but now he says it's probably periomenopause. He said the only reason he didn't consider that sooner was because he thought I was too young. I was like - yeah right. My mom was 42 when her periods stopped. I'm exactly the right age. Give me some damn hormones, man!

three of my aunts informed me last weekend that they were told by the family Dr that "we'll have hot flashes the rest of our lives."

why couldn't those bitches let me live in happy denial that once it's over, it's over? like i said, bitches, every one of them.

Weird, I've become more regular about when it shows up, but how long it lasts varies. That's about all I've had problems with so far, but every woman's different.

Besides my diabetes has had me system so messed up, I wouldn't recognize a hot flash if one hit me in the head.

Rosa - my periods are actually more regular than they have been in the past (and a lot heavier). I used to go anytime from 26-32 days. Now, it's every 28 days, and I can almost predict what time of day it'll start.
