Spanked Again!

I'm always in trouble. Ya know, where is the RESPECT? I represent good things. I speak out in matters of integrity and honor. Blah, blah, blah, blah....

I think I wrote the greatest email of all time to the administration conveying my thoughts about an intolerable matter.

Er... I also think I just got my fine and shapely ass FIRED. The response to the email was that my comments were "unwarranted". Now...we will meet to discuss the issues.

I'll keep you posted... but right now, I'm going to go chain smoke 2 cigarettes and ponder my future.

Oh, a quick question: Would you think any less of me as a Ph.D. waiting tables at Cracker Barrel?

Geeze.

I am off to the meeting now determining my fate...will report back later today. Thanks for kind words. I might be fired. I'm dressed in a suit...so funny... isn't it? As if dressing all business-y scores more points? Who the hell am I? Jimmy Crack Corn...I just don't care. OK, I'll practice my professionalism on the drive there and get the "win-win" attitude..gotta run.

I don't think you're going to be fired, NaF. Maybe royally chewed out, but not fired.

there are a lot of teaching jobs open, so if you lost this one, get another, at least you know you were right. i'd rather be right and serving coffee than thinking i'm right but doing something wrong while silently hating myself for it. good luck.

My head hurts. I'm home. I'm not fired. No pink butt. There is some aftermath clean-up I have to do. Here's the thing... You see, I have this tiny character flaw... I get high and mighty and start spewing a diatribe. That's what I did in an email. What I said is reality-represented, but words like "narrow-minded" and "bureaucratic-mentality" probably don't belong in correspondence going to senior managers. I know of few of you who read this blog are laughing.... my reputation from jobs 10 years ago or more precede me. I still haven't learned. Thanks for your kindnesses here, friends, as always. -Doreen

Yeah I have that same personality flaw, and it has gotten me into much trouble over the years. Everytime I think I've got it under control, it pops out again.
