Bloggable Things
So I went to Home Depot AGAIN for tools and stuff. This flooring job is way harder than thought. On the way out, a handsome man pushes he cart alongside mine in the parking lot and says, "Hi, I'm single."
I laughed. "Yeah?"
And he said, "I'd like to get your name and number so I can ask you on a date." He told me his name, then flipped open his phone to enter my information.
"Uh, that's flattering, but are you out of your mind? I'm not giving you anything. I don't know you and you could be a wacko."
"I'm not. And this is way better than a bar scene. Let me give you my number."
"No, I know I would never ever call."
"Then come to my new store I'm opening...." (gives me the address, tells me about it...) We went our separate ways.
That made me smile for a long while today. Maybe for some of you, this sorta thing happens all the time, but not me.
Anyway, I am working at home today PLUS sharing work time with using a mallet and beating the crap out of the wood carpet gripper stuck to the concrete, which I have to remove, then prep the floor before laying tile. I still have more carpet to remove (under the bed)... My hands hurt.
Here are some pics:
1. Piss Pot Dog Forgiven (I just know this one is the main culprit)
2. Carpet removed so far
3. The vinyl tile - "Redwood", which seems to nicely match my cherrywood hardwood/plank flooring throughout the house. 88 cents each 12"x12" tile. Not bad.

Good Morning.
I gotta tell ya.... There is nothing quite like jumping out of bed in the morning in a race to the bathroom, and stepping in something cold and sticky that oozes between the toes. What a way to start the day.
Dog crap.
Shit happens.

My Next Project: Sweaters for My Chilly Chihuahuas
I found a website with a crochet pattern for pet sweaters and it looks easy to do. I'm providing a link to the instructions (Click on Photo). Also.... I'm beginning to make Christmas presents, which this year is crocheting. I'm going to find a pattern for crocheted slippers next.

Why Do Dogs Roll Around in Stinky Stuff?

I've always wondered why dogs will roll their body on top of the nastiest things they find on the sidewalk (dead frog, et. al.). I found this response online and it's interesting:
Dogs will roll around in stinky stuff because it is their instinct to do so. Before dogs were domesticated animals, they lived in packs (like wolves) and there would always be an alpha dog. When a wolf comes across something they aren't exactly sure what it is, they will roll around in it to cover themselves with the scent, and then bring it back to their pack leader to see if it is something edible. When a dog comes across something that smells enticing, they do what comes natural. They will roll around it in and bring the scent back to you (the alpha of the pack) because of that instinct. Anyway... I was busy this morning de-funkifying my pets. I didn't have chihuahua shampoo so I hope White Rain won't kill them.
Pictured is Rocko (the black pup) and Poncho (tan).

Discuss this Photo.

I just got my roots done at the salon... and I can't believe I have so much gray hair! So.. if it's nontoxic to dye hair... is there anything wrong with giving your dog the salon treatment, too? This pic is featured in Times Magazine this week. I like it a whole bunch! Discuss.

When it rains....
I need a dog whisperer. If weather conditions aren't ideal, my chihuahuas won't go outside. When it's wet outside (even if it's no longer raining), I have to physically carry them to the outside. And then they stand there like assholes doing nothing...both of them. I know they're Mexican and still learning English, "Make da weewees outsiiiiiiiiiide!" still....Sometimes I think they really do understand and are just being defiant, especially when they flip me the paw.
And so I have puppy pads on the floor, but sometimes even with that option, they stand ON the puppy pad and pee OFF the pad and onto the floor. What's with that?
